The CasterHQ HTGFN5X112 is a 5" diameter x 1-1/2" wide glass-filled nylon wheel rated 700 lb per wheel, running 475°F continuously and 550°F intermittently. Glass-filled nylon runs in both dry and moist heat, which is what separates it from phenolic, and most buyers specify it for the moist side: bakery oven racks, smokehouse trucks, proof boxes, autoclave carts, and steam wash-down lines where a polyurethane or rubber wheel would soften, delaminate, or flat-spot. It is impervious to most chemicals, solvents, oils, salt, alkalines, and water, and it holds capacity through repeated heat cycles.

Engineer Tip: Glass-filled nylon has a hard tread and belongs on smooth floors. On rough concrete or over floor obstructions the service life drops fast, and the impact loading is what cracks the hub, not the heat. Where the cart crosses a threshold or a floor drain grate, shield the wheel from direct heat intake and step up to a 2" tread instead of adding capacity elsewhere.
It replaces the wheels on carts, racks, and trucks that live inside heat. The 5" x 1-1/2" size is the common swap on bakery oven racks and smokehouse trucks where a 4" wheel no longer clears floor debris or the operator wants easier roll-out under load. At 700 lb per wheel, a four-wheel rack carries 2,800 lb theoretical, and specifying to roughly 75% of that leaves margin for shock loading at door thresholds.
700 lb per wheel at room temperature. De-rate 20% to 560 lb per wheel for sustained operation at maximum rated temperature or in sustained sub-freezing service. Rate the assembly on three wheels, not four, since floors are rarely flat enough to load all four evenly.
This wheel ships plain bore with a spanner bushing. It is a wheel only, not a complete caster, so the brake lives in the rig you mount it to. If you need the finished assembly, the 5" x 2" High Temp Glass-Filled Nylon Swivel Caster is available with top-locking brake and bolt-on swivel lock on a 4" x 4-1/2" plate.
Glass-filled nylon runs in both dry and moist heat. High-temp phenolic runs dry heat only. That is the whole decision. Phenolic absorbs water in steam, humid bake, and wash-down environments, then swells, delaminates, and chips, so it has no place in a smokehouse, autoclave, proof box, or sanitation line. Glass-filled nylon handles those and handles dry radiant heat as well, which makes it the wider-envelope wheel and the safer spec when one cart sees more than one condition. Most buyers land on nylon for moist-heat duty specifically, but if your only concern is dry radiant heat you can compare high-temp phenolic wheels on cost.
Same family, different footprint and resin grade. The 4" x 1-1/2" high temp glass-filled nylon wheel is a moist-heat wheel rated 300 lb and 425°F for 30 minutes maximum. This 5" runs the higher-grade resin at 475°F continuous. Step to the 5" x 2" glass-filled nylon wheel at 1,000 lb when the load is the constraint rather than the clearance.
