All measurements indicate the wheel diameter by the tread width.
The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.
W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.
Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.
BHP = Bolt Hole Pattern, shown under each plate.

Measure the old plate, match the new caster. Enter your top-plate dimensions and bolt-hole spacing and this tool finds the closest standard plate size and the matching CasterHQ caster line, so a replacement drops straight in.
A caster top plate is identified by two measurements: the overall plate length and width, and the bolt-hole spacing (center to center) in each direction. Match both to a standard size and any caster on that plate will bolt into the existing holes. The most common industrial plates are 2-3/8 by 3-5/8 for light and medium duty and 4 by 4-1/2 for heavy duty.
Plate dimensions are required; bolt spacing sharpens the match. All in inches.
| Plate (L x W) | Typical bolt spacing | Duty |
|---|
The tool compares your plate length and width to the standard sizes and reports the nearest one and how close it is. Bolt-hole spacing confirms the match, because two plates can share an outline but use different hole patterns. A high-confidence match means a stocked caster will bolt straight into your existing holes; a low-confidence match means send us the measurements to verify before ordering.
Copy the spec above into a quote and we will identify the caster and confirm a drop-in replacement, or recommend an adapter plate.
