B&P Hand Truck Handles

B&P Replacement Handles

B&P Hand Truck Handles · Loop, Pin, Vertical Grip & U-Brace

Replacement handles for B&P Liberator, Aristocrat, and convertible hand trucks. The handle is the most-replaced B&P part on a daily-use truck — loop handles bend on tight loading dock corners, vertical grips wear at the pin block, and U-brace handles take the most abuse on stair-climber routes.

Match your A-code (the first letter in your A-B-C-D configuration string) and you’re done. Below: side-by-side comparison of the four handle families so you pick the right one.

The four B&P handle families — side by side

Every B&P handle falls into one of four families. Pick by use case, not by appearance — vertical grip and loop handles look similar from the side but feel very different on a 600 lb load up a curb.

A1 family

Loop Handle

  • Standard one-piece loop
  • Best grip for two-handed pushing
  • Lightest weight option
  • Most rebuilds go back to A1
Best for: Daily route & mixed loads
A2 / A75 family

Loop + Vertical Grip

  • Adds a vertical grip on the loop
  • Switches between push and stair-lift
  • Common on Aristocrat builds
  • Comfort sleeve on upper loop
Best for: Stair work, appliances
A11 / A12 family

Single & Double Pin

  • Pin-block reinforced at the join
  • Heaviest of the four families
  • A11 = double grip + U-brace
  • A12 = single pin square loop
Best for: 500–600 lb sustained loads
A14 family

Loop U-Brace

  • U-brace stiffens the loop
  • Comfort sleeve standard
  • Pairs with extending B14 frame
  • Wide stance for oversize cartons
Best for: Vending, oversize freight

How to read your A-code

The A-code is the first letter in your B&P truck’s configuration string. Example: A1-B1-CA2-D6SS = loop handle, standard frame, aluminum nose plate, 10″ solid steel wheels. Find the code on your truck’s spec card, on the original order, or stamped on the inside of the lower handle pin block.

Pin handles vs. loop handles — when each wins

Scenario Pick Why
Daily 200–400 lb pushes Loop (A1) Lightest, fastest to grip
Heavy 500–600 lb sustained Pin (A11/A12) Reinforced join, less flex
Stair-climber routes Vertical grip (A2/A75) Vertical hold for lift angle
Appliance / vending U-brace (A14) U-brace stops loop racking
Cold-weather warehouse Loop with sleeve Comfort sleeve = less glove slip
Replacing the whole front of your truck? Pair your handle with a matching B&P frame (B-code), nose plate (C-code), and wheel set (D-code).

Common handle questions

Why does my B&P handle keep bending at the same spot? You probably have a loop (A1) on a route that needs a pin handle (A11). The bend point is usually where the loop meets the frame join — pin handles add a reinforced block at exactly that spot.
Can I add a vertical grip to my existing loop handle? Not as a retrofit. Vertical grip handles are a one-piece extrusion with the grip welded in. To get the vertical grip you need to swap to an A2 or A75 handle.
Are B&P handles interchangeable between aluminum and steel trucks? The handle pattern is the same but the bolts and pin blocks differ. Match aluminum to aluminum and steel to steel.
Do these fit the Aristocrat hand truck?Yes — the Aristocrat uses the same A-code system. The A75 P-style straight loop with vertical grip is the most common Aristocrat replacement.
Will a comfort sleeve fit my old handle?Yes, sleeves are universal across the loop and U-brace families. They slide on once the old grip is cut off.
