All measurements indicate the wheel diameter by the tread width.
The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.
W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.
Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.
BHP = Bolt Hole Pattern, shown under each plate.

Every polyurethane caster formulation we stock, with capacity range, durometer, and best application. The 2,303-SKU polyurethane inventory covers everything from light office casters (80 lb) up to extra heavy industrial (5,000 lb).
| Poly Type | Hub Material | Capacity | Best Application |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red Poly on Iron | Cast Iron | 500 to 5,000 lb | Heaviest industrial, manufacturing, mfg fixtures |
| Gray Poly on Iron | Cast Iron | 400 to 4,000 lb | Standard heavy industrial, warehouse |
| Maroon Poly on Polyolefin (DuraTough) | Polyolefin Core | 300 to 1,200 lb | Industrial w/ lighter weight than iron hub |
| Poly on Aluminum | Aluminum | 300 to 1,200 lb | Medium industrial, weight-sensitive |
| Blue Solid Polyurethane | Solid (no hub) | 200 to 600 lb | Premium retail, medical, AV |
| Poly on Polyolefin | Polyolefin Plastic | 200 to 800 lb | Light to medium retail, fixtures |
| TPR/TPU Soft Poly | Plastic Core | 150 to 500 lb | Hospital, food prep, soft floors |
Iron hub handles the heaviest loads (up to 5,000 lb) but is heaviest. Aluminum is lighter at 300-1,200 lb. Polyolefin or solid poly caps around 800 lb. Match the hub material to your maximum expected load.
Red poly = heaviest, hardest. Gray = standard industrial. Blue solid = non-marking premium. Maroon = abuse-resistant DuraTough. Natural/Black = lower-cost general use.
Plate mount bolts to a flat surface (most common on industrial equipment). Stem mount screws into an existing threaded socket (offices, retail fixtures, furniture). Match the mount type to what your equipment already has.
Swivel for maneuverability. Rigid for tracking and straight-line stability. Total lock when the equipment must hold position. Most 4-caster sets use 4 swivels or 2 swivel + 2 rigid for combo maneuverability and tracking.

CasterHQ stocks 2,303 polyurethane caster configurations at our Mansfield, TX facility — the largest dedicated polyurethane caster inventory in the U.S. Every major formulation, hub material, and mount type. 99 percent of orders ship same or next business day.
Polyurethane is the most versatile industrial wheel material: non-marking on hard floors, quiet rolling, 80 to 5,000 lb capacity range, decade-plus service life. Default choice for retail, warehouse, manufacturing, hospital, and AV equipment.
Iron hubs handle the heaviest loads (up to 5,000 lb per caster) but weigh 2-3x more. Aluminum hubs are lighter (300-1,200 lb capacity) and reduce overall caster weight. Same polyurethane tread on both.
Most are non-marking on tile, vinyl, and polished concrete. Blue solid polyurethane and natural color are the safest non-marking. Some red and dark gray can mark light-colored floors.
Per-caster: 80 lb (small office) to 5,000 lb (large red poly on iron). 4-caster set covers 320 lb to 20,000 lb.
CasterHQ's brand of maroon polyurethane on polyolefin wheels — engineered for industrial abuse resistance. The polyolefin core handles shock loads without cracking; the poly tread handles wear. 300-1,200 lb per caster.
Plate mount bolts to a flat surface using 4 bolts — most industrial equipment. Stem mount screws into an existing threaded socket — offices, retail fixtures, furniture. Match the mount type to your equipment's existing mounting surface.
Polyurethane casters are designed for indoor industrial use. Polyurethane handles weather, but the metal hub may rust outdoors over time. For dedicated outdoor use, pneumatic or flat-free wheels with corrosion-resistant frames are better.
Many models include side-lock or total-lock brakes built in. For brake-equipped polyurethane casters, filter to "with brake" or "total locking" variants. Standard casters are free-swivel.
The polyurethane tread itself can sometimes be re-bonded if damaged but isn't typically field-serviceable. Replace the wheel when tread is worn, gouged, or chunked. We stock matching replacement wheels for all our casters.
99 percent of polyurethane caster orders ship same or next business day from our Mansfield, TX facility via FedEx Ground. Bulk fleet orders over 100 casters ship freight. Cutoff 2pm Central.
