Stretcher and gurney wheel replacement for DFW hospitals and surgery centers.

A stretcher with a worn fifth wheel or failed brake fights the transport team and risks the patient. CasterDoctor restores straight-tracking, light-steer, positive-lock stretcher mobility on-site.

Stretchers & gurneys

Three things go wrong — and each one costs the facility.

Fix the fifth-wheel steering

A worn central fifth wheel makes a loaded stretcher fight every turn. We restore straight-track steering so one transporter can corner a loaded stretcher safely.

Brakes that lock and stay locked

A stretcher that creeps after the brake is set is a transfer-injury risk. Positive-locking caster brakes hold under the patient's full weight.

Stop the corridor rattle

A loaded stretcher rolling on worn casters rattles the whole hallway. Sealed-bearing, engineered-tread casters run quiet.

How we work

A three-step engagement designed around your facility's schedule, not ours.

01

Inspect

Same-day on-site walk across the DFW metroplex. We catalog every cart, wheel, and stem dimension — with push-force and decibel baselines per asset class.

02

Specify

An engineered upgrade plan keyed to your noise and push-force targets. Locked spec sheet, transparent line-item quote, Net 30 invoicing.

03

Install

Our crew arrives at your designated staging area to swap and repair on-site. After-hours and pickup-and-return options when patient flow requires it.

Outcomes for the facility

Procurement-grade engagement. Measurable results across every install.

Restored steering control

Fifth-wheel and corner-caster service so a single transporter can steer a loaded stretcher through tight corners.

Verified brake hold

Every brake is tested under loaded weight — no creep during patient transfers.

Lower transport-team strain

Force-gauge readings before and after. Less push/pull load on EVS and patient-transport staff.

Documented per asset

Each stretcher and gurney logged by asset tag with before-and-after push-force and decibel data.

"Healthcare facilities deserve a single point of accountability — from the first inspection through the last wheel installed. That's how we run every job."

Frequently asked

Repair, response time, and fit.

Can you fix the fifth-wheel steering on our stretchers?
Yes. Fifth-wheel drift is the most common stretcher complaint. We service the central steering wheel and the four corner casters so the stretcher tracks straight under load.
Do you replace stretcher brakes too?
We service the caster-integrated brake system and verify positive lock under the patient's loaded weight. Brake creep during transfers is a safety event we specifically test for.
Which stretcher brands do you service?
All major platforms — Stryker, Hill-Rom, Gendron, and others — plus procedure gurneys and transport stretchers. We catalog dimensions per asset at inspection.
Can you do this without pulling stretchers from service long?
Each stretcher is only down for the swap itself. We coordinate with your ED or OR scheduler and can stage units so the floor always has stretchers available.
How fast is the response?
Same-day inspection across the DFW metroplex. Engineered quote within 1-3 business days, most installs within 2-3 weeks. Rush options available.
