All measurements indicate the wheel diameter by the tread width.
The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.
W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.
Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.
BHP = Bolt Hole Pattern, shown under each plate.
Industrial pneumatic wheels (air-filled tires) — 6-inch through 16-inch air-filled tires for hand trucks, dollies, carts, and outdoor equipment. Smooth ride over uneven floors, dock plates, gravel, and rough terrain. Heavy-duty rubber compound with sealed precision bearings. 100 to 600 lb per wheel. Stocked at our Mansfield, TX facility.

Pneumatic (air-filled) wheels give the smoothest ride and best shock absorption of any wheel type. Compare by wheel size, capacity, tire pattern, and best application.
| Wheel Size | Capacity | Tire Pattern | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6" Pneumatic | 100-200 lb | Sawtooth or Ribbed | Hand trucks, light dollies |
| 8" Pneumatic | 200-350 lb | Sawtooth, Ribbed, Knobby | Most common hand truck and cart size |
| 10" Pneumatic | 350-500 lb | Sawtooth or Knobby | Heavy hand trucks, outdoor carts |
| 13" Pneumatic | 400-550 lb | Knobby off-road | Outdoor industrial, gravel terrain |
| 16" Pneumatic | 500-600 lb | Knobby off-road | Heavy outdoor, agricultural |
Smaller wheels (6"-8") for smooth indoor and light outdoor. Larger (10"-16") for rough terrain, gravel, dock plates. Bigger wheels roll over obstacles easier but raise overall mount height.
Sawtooth/Ribbed for smooth concrete and warehouse floors. Knobby off-road for outdoor terrain, gravel, dirt. Match the pattern to where the equipment actually rolls.
Pneumatic tires need correct PSI — usually printed on the sidewall. 6-8" tires run 20-30 PSI; 10-13" run 25-40 PSI. Underinflated reduces capacity; overinflated reduces ride quality and shortens life.
Pneumatic: smoothest ride, can go flat. Solid rubber: zero-flat, firmer ride, heavier. Flat-free foam: middle option, no flats with pneumatic-like ride. Pick pneumatic when ride quality matters and occasional flats are acceptable.

A wheel with an air-filled rubber tire mounted on a hub. Provides the smoothest ride and best shock absorption of any wheel type. Used on hand trucks, dollies, outdoor carts, and rough-terrain equipment.
Yes — just like vehicle tires, pneumatic wheels can puncture or leak air over time. Keep them inflated to spec PSI. For zero-flat operation, choose solid rubber or flat-free foam-filled wheels.
Most U.S. hand trucks use 8-inch or 10-inch pneumatic wheels. 8-inch for standard hand trucks, 10-inch for heavy-duty or appliance hand trucks that cross dock plates and rough terrain.
Recommended PSI is printed on the tire sidewall. Typical: 6-inch 20 PSI; 8-inch 25 PSI; 10-inch 30 PSI; 13-inch+ 35-40 PSI. Underinflation reduces capacity; overinflation reduces tire life.
Sawtooth/ribbed tread is smooth, low rolling resistance, best on indoor concrete and asphalt. Knobby off-road tread has aggressive lugs for traction in gravel, dirt, and mud.
Yes — sealed precision bearings or roller bearings pre-installed. Sealed bearings handle outdoor moisture and dust better.
5/8 inch and 3/4 inch are the most common U.S. hand truck and dolly bore sizes. Heavier equipment uses 1 inch. Match the bore to your existing axle.
